Description:
'Matthiessen's book is a triumph that will outlive him. It is a masterpiece' John Hillaby
Enjoy this special edition hardback of one of the greatest pieces of travel and nature writing ever written. Go with Peter Matthiessen all the way to Dolpo, a Tibetan plateau in the high Himalayas.
This is the account of a journey to the dazzling Tibetan plateau of Dolpo in the high Himalayas. In 1973 Matthiessen made the 250-mile trek to Dolpo, as part of an expedition to study wild blue sheep. It was an arduous, sometimes dangerous, physical endeavour- exertion, blisters, blizzards, endless negotiations with sherpas, quaking cold. But it was also a 'journey of the heart' - amongst the beauty and indifference of the mountains Matthiessen was searching for solace. He was also searching for a glimpse of a snow leopard, a creature so rarely spotted as to be almost mythical.

Great everyday polo
Size: XX-Large, Color: White
I picked up the U.S. Polo Assn. Men’s Classic Two-Button Pique Polo as a casual summer and golf shirt and ended up wearing it far more than I expected. The fit is true to size with a comfortable classic cut that isn’t too slim or baggy, and the lightweight pique cotton feels breathable and perfect for warm weather, whether you’re on the course or just running errands. For the price, the quality really surprised me—the fabric feels durable yet soft, the collar keeps its shape after washing, and the stitching looks solid without feeling cheap. The style is simple and versatile, easy to pair with jeans, shorts, or chinos, and the logo is noticeable but not over the top. After several washes there’s been no major shrinking or fading, especially when washed cold and air dried. Overall, this is an affordable, comfortable, and reliable polo that looks good and holds up well, and I’ll definitely be buying more colors.

Decent Look, But Sizing and Shrinkage Are Dealbreakers
Size: Medium, Color: White
Product: U.S. Polo Assn. Men’s Classic Polo Shirt
Used for: 5 and a half months
Key Features:
– Clean, classic polo style with a decent fit (visually)
– Breathable and lightweight for casual wear
– Appears durable and holds up in the wash
Ratings:
Quality:
The shirt feels alright and seems to hold up after regular washing. That said, it shrinks noticeably, and the sizing already feels off to begin with.
Rating: 4/5
Performance:
It’s wearable, but nothing exceptional. The fabric is fine for casual use, but the sizing was a big issue—I usually wear a medium, and this felt like an extra small. I even passed it on to someone smaller than me and they found it tight too.
Rating: 3/5
Value:
It’s reasonably priced, but there are definitely more comfortable and better-fitting polo shirts out there in the same price range.
Rating: 3/5
Pros:
– Easy to wash and care for
– Seems durable over time
Cons:
– Shrinks badly in the wash
– Sizing runs very small and feels inconsistent
Summary:
The U.S. Polo Assn. Classic Polo Shirt might work if you size up significantly and don’t mind a snug fit. It looks decent and holds up to washing, but the shrinking and poor sizing really hurt the overall experience. If comfort and a reliable fit matter to you, there are better options available for a similar price.
Overall Rating: 3/5
